Cao Li's work combines the real and the imagined elements to create an esoteric，exquisite，and outlandish style. In Nocture，the kneeling figure holding two flutes occupies most of the picture. The assembly of objects comprising the torso draws the viewers' attention. The figure's right arm holds a flute to the lips at the ribs as if a melody is played from the heart. Horses，musicians，and nudities are the recurring motifs in Cao Li's work，representing the artist's feelings and inner states. By combining these elements，the artist constructs a fantastic world layered with meanings and metaphors.
曹力的作品结合现实与想象，瑰丽奇谲的人物和场景，创造出带有神秘主义风格的作品。《夜曲》中半跪立、双手持笛的人形占据画面主要部分，然而吸引观众目光的，是以不同对象组成，好似面部五官的身体躯干，下方持笛的手对应着嘴唇，彷佛奏出内心的旋律。曹力绘画中经常出现的主题：马、音乐家和裸体人物，都是艺术家个人和内心状态的代表，透过这些元素的组合，曹力建构出富有层次、多重寓意的奇幻世界。
